Project overview
NNUF-EXACT (Next Generation Accelerated Characterisation Technologies), part of the UK government's phase 2 National Nuclear User Facility investment, is based at the ÃÛÌÒTV's Waterfront Campus, and aims to be a world-leading radiochemistry facility enabling research and training in accelerated nuclear characterisation and remediation technologies underpinning civil nuclear programmes, decommissioning and site clean-up, and new nuclear infrastructure. EXACT provides a ‘test-bed’ facility for research and development in the fields of nuclear characterisation and remediation, enabling evaluation and validation of new technologies using nuclear relevant materials and radiotracers.
The facility comprises of a suite of easily accessible project laboratories which are capable of handling radioactive materials and able to offer a flexible user configurable environment to host user’s equipment and experimental set-ups.
