ÃÛÌÒTV

I am a Lecturer in Geology at the School of Ocean and Earth Sciences. My research centres on volcanology and igneous processes, with a particular focus on improving the diagnostics and forecasting of volcanic eruptions. I employ a wide range of methods, including geological field studies, crystal-scale diffusion kinetics and isotope geochemistry, numerical modelling of magma dynamics, and machine learning approaches. Current investigations focus on the chemical and thermomechanical processes within magmatic systems to better understand the origins of precursory signals - such as surface deformation and seismicity - that often precede eruptions.
