During your time at the University, you may encounter times when you need help and support.

The Student Hub

The Student Hub is your first point of contact for questions relating to wellbeing and disability support, exams, assessment and course queries, accommodation, and fees and finance. You can also reach out to us if you just need someone to talk to.

Before visiting us in Building 37 or Building 63F, j.ÌýYou can check your queue position and current waiting time from your phone. You’ll receive an alert when it’s your turn to speak to an advisor, so you can wait within The Student Hub or elsewhere on campus.

In an emergency

In a medical emergency, call 999 for immediate help.

When you need medical advice, but it is not a 999 emergency, online or call 111. When you phone 111, your call is handled by an advisor who can guide you on what treatment you need. If the advisor believes that you need an ambulance, they will arrange one for you. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from both landlines and mobile phones.

24/7 wellbeing support

We are available 24/7 to provide all students with wellbeing support. Our wellbeing advisors are based in The Student Hub on Highfield Campus and can travel to meet students on other campuses or in halls when requested. There is a wide range of further support available to you, which we will help you explore and access where appropriate. Contact The Student Hub to access wellbeing support.

Academic support

The University offers a number of ways to support students in their academic life:

Personal Academic Tutor and Senior Tutor

One of the most important people you will meet while you are a student is your Personal Academic Tutor who will be allocated to you on your arrival at the University and who is normally a member of academic staff in your own or a closely related subject area. Your Personal Academic Tutor will offer one-to-one support and advice throughout your time at university and will support you in your studies.

The SUSU Advice Centre
