An evening lecture organised by the Southampton Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies and Chawton House Library.
This lecture will given by Amy Frost (Beckford Tower Trust) and she will explore Beckford as a writer and collector, revealing his relationship with his half-sister Elizabeth Hervey, a novelist whose books can be found in Chawton House Library and who Beckford satirised in his own work.
