The eleven 'Bridging The Gaps' Universities

In 2014, as part of the cross-council initiative in Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) EPSRC  launched its 'Bridging The Gap' call to engage engineering and physical sciences (EPS) researchers with the AMR challenge and  develop networks focusing on four multidisciplinary themes in the cross-council AMR initiative ( ) in order to support people to build capacity and understanding which could lead to future research proposals. The eleven Institutions below shared funding of £5 Million to run for 2 years from 2015

Generating an active and vibrant research environment to tackle Antimicrobial Resistance

Providing exciting AMR research opportunities for outstanding EPS researchers

Researchers, clinicians and allied healthcare professionals joining forces to address the global threat of AMR

Interacting with clinical and industry partners to tackle acquisition and transmission of AMR infectious agents

Systems-level approaches to antimicrobial resistance, facilitating multidisciplinary research at Nottingham

Biology, Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Physical Sciences and Pharmacy: creating new ideas to fight AMR

Enabling new research and translational opportunities for tackling the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance

NAMRIP, ÃÛÌÒTV

An interdisciplinary approach to infection prevention and combatting increasing levels of antimicrobial resistance

Developing novel strategies to detect and mitigate the emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in zoonotic pathogens

A practical interdisciplinary hub promoting interdisciplinary approaches to spark innovation tackling antimicrobial resistance

A culture of engagement with ‘goal-orientated’ thinking between Engineering, Physical, Biological and Social Scientists

Part of the cross-councils research funding initiative aimed at tackling the growing threat of anti-microbial resistance
