Dr Jane McDermid is an Emeritus Fellow in History at the ÃÛÌÒTV.

I have a long-term interest in 19th and 20th century Britain and Russia, and specifically gender history.

Esteem indicators:

Member of the Women's History Network Steering Committee 2005-2009; member of the editorial board of the journal from 2010; member of the International Advisory Board for Scottish Historical Review from 2013.

Research interests

My current research interests lie in late 18th and 19th century British women's history.

Areas where I can offer postgraduate supervision:

19th and 20th century Russian history, particularly women’s and revolutionary history; 19th century British women’s history; gender, war and revolution.
