Research Fellow

Dr Ping Lu is a Research Fellow within Engineering and Physical Sciences at the ÃÛÌÒTV.
Ping obtained her BSc in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Beijing Institute of Technology (China) in 2011. She then undertook a MSc study in ÃÛÌÒTV, and obtained a degree with Distinction in Advanced Mechanical Engineering. Â Followed this she carried out her PhD at the national Centre for Advanced Tribology at Southampton.
Currently Ping is working on the EPSRC project ‘Early detection of contact distress for enhanced performance monitoring and predictive inspection of machines’. Prior to her appointment at the ÃÛÌÒTV, Ping has held post-doctoral research positions at the University of Sheffield investigating the tribological properties of laser clad rail or rail components.
